University of Minnesota launches MNDrive Initiative to conduct cluster faculty recruiting in areas related to Neuromodulation, Robotics, Sensors and Manufacturing. More details on faculty search related to neuroengineering to be updated ASAP.

CNE director Bin He and colleagues were recently awarded a $9.5 million NIH U01 program grant to study the mechanisms, quantification and therapy of pain in sickle cell diseases (SCD) patients. Dr. Bin He will use EEG and fMRI to quantify pain in this project. Dr. Kalpna Gupta of Dept of Medicine is the lead PI of the grant.

CNE director Bin He and his team made a major advancement in brain-computer interface (BCI) research, demonstrating mind control of a flying robot using noninvasive brainwaves. The work was featured by Nature, BBC, CNN, NBC, CBS, New York Times, Scientific American, US News, among others. Click here to see the video.

First Minnesota Neuromoduation Symposium successfully held with more than 250 participants. Click here for details.

CNE faculty awarded $3 million NSF IGERT training grant in Systems Neuroengineering, covering neural decoding, neuromodulation, and neural interfacing. See Newsletter for details.

CNE faculty Ebner and colleagues awarded $3.75 million NIH NINDS center core grant to study neurological diseases using mouse models.
